The Leading Hotels of the World has ranked six hotels as the most luxurious and exclusive in the world. A new hotel in Tulum was recently added to its collection.
Since 1928, hotels in the Leading Hotels of the World have reached a five-star category.
To achieve this, these hotels undergo a comprehensive assessment that measures the quality of the establishment. One of the most important features is the ability to be independent.
At the end of February this year, Casa Chablé, located on the Tulum-Punta Allen highway at kilometer 34.5 near the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, was added to the list.
At the same time, five other luxury hotels in New York, Italy, and Portugal were also included in the prestigious list.
In the case of Tulum, the hotel is located near the Sian Ka’an Nature Reserve, so it is in contact with the turquoise blue ocean. It only has five suite or villa-type rooms and five luxury bungalows. To reach the place, you have to take a boat.
The director of the Directorate of Tourism and Economy of the Tulum City Council, Jorge Molina, celebrated the hotel’s entry into the category of independent luxury accommodation.
“Now we are in the superluxury segment and already have a hotel in this category. The Leading Hotels of the World turned the corner months ago and now we are seeing the results,” said Molina.
Molina added that tourism in Tulum has shifted to new markets in recent years and the number of affluent visitors has increased. It is expected that this sector will continue to grow with the arrival of Tulum’s international airport, which will begin operations between March and May this year.
